External morphology
Body slightly flattened and almost cylindrical in dorsoventral direction, brown. Dorsum darker than venter, with two straight, uninterrupted parallel longitudinal lines of darker colour. Stripe starts anterior dorsally, thickens slightly and runs continuously and parallel to posterior sucker. In preserved specimens, dark stripe is absent. Ventral side is light brown to cream in colour without stripes or patterns. Body smooth, sensory papillae too small to visualise. Body contains 106 annuli except for the posterior sucker. Midbody segments with five annuli, widths equal in some segments but enlarged others. Rings show second-order cleavage with dashed lines. Four pairs of eyes, two annuli between anterior and posterior pairs. Anterior eyes larger than posterior eyes. Eyes apparent in alcohol-preserved specimens. Eye pairs in same annulus often unequal in size. Gonopores located in furrows and separated by two annuli. Male gonopore in furrow between XII b2/a2 annuli (33/34th annulus). Female gonopore in furrow between XII b5/b6 (35/36th annuli).
